I apologize for all the emails sent out today, but I figured this was important. As some of you are on Facebook and received the event for the banquet, we wanted to make clear that the banquet is on FRIDAY, MAY 6TH and NOT May 7th. Kid's Day is May 7th! If you have not received an invitation on Facebook regarding the banquet, let me know, and we will give you one. If you plan on attending, please let us know ASAP so we can start purchasing food. Also, if you plan on attending now and that changes a few weeks down the road, please let us know ASAP as well. I love food and would gladly eat your meal, but for the sake of my health and the money in the AMS bank account, we would appreciate not having a lot of leftovers because people did not show up.
Our next meeting will be at Spotter Training on Tuesday, April 12th at 7pm in Faraday 144. Start thinking about whether or not you would be interested in running for a position on the AMS board, because it is close to the end of the year and we need to have nominations very soon. It's a great resume builder!
On another note, for those of you who were not at our meeting last week, there was an announcement made about Cooperative Weather Observers needed for this summer and next year. Danny Brouillette is the new Director for next year and is holding a training session at the Co-Op station (behind Barsema Alumni Center right by the Northern Television Center) on Friday, April 8th at 7am. For those of you who are not familiar with taking observations, he will be going over the standard procedure that morning for anyone interested. His email address is dbrouillette@niu.edu if anyone would like more information from him.
That should be it on most announcements. Thanks guys; have a good rest of the week and weekend.
